The Martin Lawrence Memorial Trust has been set up to support projects in Africa and the UK  to enable his many friends to get together at social and sporting events to have fun and raise funds. The evening was attended by about 160 family and friends.

The 3 projects chosen to support are:

1.   Send a Cow “Wolayita” project in Ethiopia – life changing work with poor rural families in 7 African countries

2.  Rutland Osprey Project – learning resources to follow the progress of the birds all round the world and

3. The Fred Trueman State Schools Cricket League – Instigated by the late Fred Trueman and Geoff Hastings to help state schools play competitive cricket in 2006. Today in 2015 there are now some 170 schools in 6 counties playing league cricket at U13 and U15 level. The £5,000 grant from the trust will fund kit for 13 new schools in the Scunthorpe area. Cricket Deal Direct has been associated with the Fred Trueman cricket League since 2012 and provide the SM cricket equipment for all new schools. We are proud to be associated with this latest venture www.cricketdealdirect.co.uk

Congratulations To Northants on Winning T20 Finals Day!

By , August 19, 2013 12:57 pm

Congratulations go out to all of the Northants Cricket Team after their amazing win on finals day. Northants started the day as the underdogs and this helped Northants play the sort of cricket they have been all year with two terrific performances first against the Essex Eagles in the Semi-final and then against Surrey in the final later in the day with Northants posting the highest ever score on finals day due to innings from David Willey, Cameron White and Captain Alex Wakely. David Willey later finished off the final with a hat-trick! Well done to the whole northants team and we are all so elated and this great success and hope that they can carry on their form in all three formats of the game!
