Catherine Dalton Announced as SM Ambassador!

By , February 18, 2014 3:27 pm

Cricket Deal Direct (CDD) are pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Dalton (Middlesex) as SM brand ambassador for the UK and Europe.

Catherine Dalton first burst onto the scene in 2011 making back-to-back hundreds (147 and 137) for Essex Under 17s and finished with a season’s batting average in excess of 100. In 2011 and 2012, she was taken on the England Academy as an opening bowler and made her International debut in ODI’s and T20 against South Africa in Potchefstroom. Limited opportunities at Essex led to a switch to Middlesex in 2012 and this saw her career take another upward turn when she won the coveted Middlesex ‘Player Of The Year” award alongside her male equivalent, England Lions’ player Sam Robson, last season.

In 2013, SM and CDD sponsored Catherine for the first time and she finished 5th in the ECB National Batting list averaging a shade under 70, using an SM  Player’s Pride bat.

Cath remains one of the few women to play regular Saturday men’s cricket where she turned out for Halstead CC 1st XI in Essex as an opening bowler and middle order batsman in Division One cricket in 2013. She is a regular in the womens’ national Premier League for Finchley Gunns CC.

We Wish Catherine all the best for the upcoming season which hopefully will be even more successful than the last! Cath will be extending the SM range of bats during the new season.
