shetul patelCricket Deal Direct (CDD) is pleased to welcome another member of the team who shares our passion for the game. Shetul Patel, who in his day job is an Operational Support Analyst, follows what he says is “cricket running in his blood” and has been associated with several clubs, currenty, TFL Pirates CC and Epping CC.

As an all-rounder Shetul loves to bowl and bat, as well as being a very active fielder. Unfortunately a right shoulder injury has curtailed his bowling and he is now waitiing for an operation – which is much needed, as he is also wicket keeper for Epping CC.

Undeterred by injury, Shetul still plays regularly and is also now working with CDD in the London area in a regional sales role, to service the needs of clubs who want to see and feel SM bats and other kit for themselves. Shetul will soon become a regular visitor to many clubs in and around London and so when you see him, ask to see some SM kit – as well as enquire about his shoulder of course.

Shetul is married and has a young son – who no doubt will find that the cricketing blood inspires him in due course too!

Following the recent survey to establish current issues and opportunities for women’s cricket it has been announced by Cricket Deal Direct (CDD) that England Women’s cricket captain, Heather Knight has renewed her contract with the company to continue as an SM Ambassador and support The Heather Knight Collection

“As a brand ambassador for the SM range of cricket kit which CDD imports from India, I know that the team there have a genuine passion for the women’s game, which is why I’m delighted to continue working with them” says Heather.

CDD Managing Director, Ian Anderson adds, “Our recent survey shows that there needs to be greater clarity about the pathways for girls to follow from playing cricket at school through to their local club and beyond, which is why it’s great to see that the ECB are providing more support to county cricket boards this year to encourage more participation by girls. From our perspective, it is a real plus that we are continuing to work with Heather Knight who is an inspiration to girls and women of all ages who want to get into the game.

The survey highlighted a number of key issues, including the importance of the media in continuing to raise awareness of the women’s game, which we hope will be addressed by coverage of the World Cup and Kia Super League later this year.”

A full copy of the survey findings is available at the CDD blog

Heather will continue as a brand ambassador with CDD for a further two years, and continuing to play with the HK 149 bat and protection, which are part of The Heather Knight Collection available exclusively from CDD.

Ian Anderson says, “We are delighted to be working with Heather and are proud to support her and other top players, who all inspire girls and women of all ages to play cricket at all levels. The products we offer as part of The Heather Knight Collection are available at stockists around the UK, and we have a number of exciting plans to make this quality range even more accessible during 2017.”
